So yesterday I received my first phone upgrade in almost 2 years, Verizon’s new Motorola Droid. So far there really are only two things that I can say negative about it.
1. The antenna is noticeably weaker than it was in my Blackberry 8830. However, the 8830 has the best cellular antenna on any phone I have ever seen so it wasn’t a surpise to me.
2. The keyboard is just slightly smaller than I would have liked. But again, it is huge in comparrison to the minute keyboard on the 8830. In fact this post was placed using the Droid.
The email app also doesn’t seem to support rulesets, but again this isn’t a huge issue.
The good attributes are simply too long to list. The screen is amazing! And video plays with seemingly HD quality. The unit is very responsive and I am generally in love with it.
I cannot as of yet give an accurate account of battery life as today is the first day of a full charge, but I will let you know later.
Pics follow, sorry for their quality. I only had access to a camera phone.

Murf, I love mine! I got it just last night (Nov 20, 2009) – and other than some issues with setting up the SMTP servers for my POP3 accounts (stupid human trick) everything is cooly.
On battery life… The DROID is a hungry critter if you keep WI-FI and GPS enabled. I highly recommend installing a task killer app to zot stuff quickly. Several are available, so still testing.
The still camera is.. well.. meh (at best). Barely better quality than my 2 year old Razr. Good thing I didn’t buy it for that, though it would have been a nice topper to an otherwise brilliant device.
I hear the video capture is pretty good, though, and WILL be testing soon.
P.S.
I do agree about the physical keyboard. kinda.. odd.

Ya’ll both suck!
Due to the fact that I’m stuck with T-Mobile, my “Droid” is called a “CliQ” but even so, it still beats a WinMo to pieces!
CliQ has the distinction of being the Droid’s illegitimate daddy, since it is the first Motorola to run android!
Still the CliQ is a great phone, I get bars in places that were dead before.
I do miss my iPhone but since becoming non responsive to my touch (reminicent of a few of my ex-wives), I alienated it so to speak!
